Boston Bruins embarrass the Montreal Canadiens 7-0 in shut-out – NHL Recap

The Boston Bruins humiliate the Montreal Canadiens 7-0 in a shut-out at the TD Garden on Thursday. The Bruins were looking to move closer the top spot in the National Hockey League Eastern Conference, as the Canadiens want to strengthen their position for
a possible play-off cut.
The game started off with the Bruins showing their productivity and constructing some brilliant plays and scoring thrice during the course of the first period. The second period did not see much action, but the game got better with the passage of time. No
goals were scored in the second period, but the final period saw the Bruins scoring four times to win the game 7-0 in the end. Zdeno Chara of the Bruins made three assists during the course of the game.
The Bruins were the dominating force in the game right from the start. They constructed some magnificent plays and with the passage of time their shots and passing got better. The Bruins were able to capitalise from the start and scored in the second minute
through Johnny Boychuk from a powerful strike to get into the lead.
The Canadiens made a few shots on goal, but it was the Bruins who scored once again in the 14th minute through Gregory Campbell from a simple tip-in shot to double their lead. The Bruins completed the dominating performance of the period with
another goal in the 18th minute, which was scored by Nathan Horton from a decent strike.
The period ended with the Bruins leading 3-0, as they made 18 shots on goal while the Canadiens managed 9 attempts.
The second period saw both teams making quite a few shots on goal, with the Canadiens making six shots on goal while the Bruins managed 11 shots, but they were unable to find the back of the net. Both teams coming across some easy scoring chances, but they
were unable score as the period ended with the Bruins leading 3-0.
During the final period, the Bruins were in attacking mode right from the start. They scored twice in the fifth minute to extend their already dominating lead. The goals were scored by Nathan Horton from a flick-shot and Adam McQuaid from a brilliant tip-in
shot.
The Bruins continued to attack and scored once again in the 12th minute through Tomas Kaberle from a quick fired shot. The Bruins sealed the game with another goal in the 14th minute which was scored by Gregory Campbell from a well
placed flick-shot.
The gamed ended with the Bruins winning 7-0. The Bruins made 12 shots in the final period while the Canadiens managed nine attempts.
