Boston Bruins humiliate Philadelphia Flyers 7-3 to lead semi-final series 1-0 – NHL Play-off UpdateThe opening game of the National Hockey League Play-offs semi-final series between the Philadelphia Flyers and the Boston Bruins kicked off this Saturday at the Wells Fargo Arena that saw the Bruins winning 7-3 to take a 1-0 lead in the series.The Bruins were hopeful of a strong performance as they wanted to make a strong start after their seven games clash with the Montreal Canadiens.The game started off with the Bruins scoring the opening goal. The Flyers scored the equalising goal but once again it was the Bruins who scored to get back into the lead. The Bruins were on fire as they scored thrice in the second period compared to the one goal scored by the Flyers. The final period saw the Flyers scoring first in the final period but once again it was the Bruins who scored two goals. There were several more chances for both teams to score goals but this did not happen as the period and the game ended with the Bruins winning 7-3. David Krejci, centre of the Bruins was named the Star of the Game as he scored two goals and came up with two assists.The Bruins got off to a flying start as they piled up shots and scored in the second minute through David Krejci from a superb back-hand shot to get into the lead. The Bruins continued to dominate the game for quite a while until finally the Flyers started to bounce back.The Flyers scored in the 12th minute through Danny Briere from a well placed flick-shot to level the score. Both teams continued to attack and it was Nathan Horton who scored to put the Bruins in a 2-1 lead. The Flyers made eight shots on goal while the Bruins made 12 attempts.The second period kicked off with the Bruins coming out strong. They were quick on the offence once again and scored in the third minute through Mark Recchi to extend their lead. Krejci was on the end of scoring another goal as his 16th minute shot went flying into the back of the net.The Bruins further extended their lead with a goal in the 18th minute through Brad Marchand. James van Riemsdyk score from a quick fired shot for the Flyers in the same minute but it were the Bruins who led 5-2 at the end of the period.The final period saw the Flyers scoring in the 14th minute through Mike Richards but the Bruins were on top of their game as they scored through Marchand in the 15th minute and then through Gregory Campbell in the 18th minute to win the game 7-3 in the end.
