Boston Bruins left winger Brad Marchand has not made his mind about playing outside yet
Brad Marchand, the professional ice hockey player from Canada and a forward from Boston Bruins who feature in Northeast division of Eastern Conference of NHL, has not decided yet whether to go out to play hockey or not.
Since the National Hockey League (NHL) lockout, many players have left North America and turning towards Europe to play in different leagues like Finnish, Russian or Swedish leagues to play some top hockey for the time being.
But the 24-year-old youngster who has just started his magnificent hockey career remains confused if he should leave his native country or stay away from the top hockey action taking place around the world, mostly in Europe.
Few days ago, while talking to some reporters, Marchand revealed that he is not sure whether to go to Europe or not, but he actually does not want to. And at the same time he cannot afford to stay away from top action and has to occupy some spot before they
are all taken up, as he said,
“We’re entertaining the option, but I’m not sure. I don’t really want to go over to Europe, but at the same time, spots are limited and you want to be able to secure a spot before they’re all taken up”.
The Hammonds Plains, Nova Scotia born player also told that he has been doing some fun in these off days and things like hunting, which he cannot do normally, as he added,
“I’m definitely looking into it, but at the same time I’m locked in for a while now. I’m training hard and it’s nice to be here with the guys. And there are some opportunities to do things you can’t normally do. I love hunting, too, and it’s also an opportunity
to do things like that.”
The 5-foot-9, 183 pounder was picked 71st overall in the third round of the 2006 NHL draft by Bruins and made his NHL debut 3 years later in 2009 when he played in 20 NHL games.
Last two seasons have been successful for him as he scored 41 points in 77 games of 2010-2011 season and 55 points in 76 games of 2011-2012 season.
