Boston Bruins rally to oust New York Rangers 3-1 – NHL Playoffs

It is final! Boston will be going up against Pittsburgh Penguins in the 2013 National Hockey League (NHL) Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals as the Bruins ousted New York Rangers in Game 5 with a 3-1 win.
Winners of the 2011 Stanley Cup will have another spectacular chance to make a run for the most coveted prize in the world of hockey but Pittsburgh will definitely not be an easy opponent to face at such a time.
It was another match of the goalies, as relatively inexperienced net minder for Boston, Tuukka Rask, was up against veteran goalkeeper, Henrik Lundqvist. Game 5 was the deciding one for Boston and Rask did not
take it too easy, as he blocked 28 of 29 shots, while his competitor failed on two.
"As a goalie, you expect to make one or two big saves. And today it happened," Rask said. "I didn't feel bad about myself after Game 4; obviously, there was a little s***w-up there with that goal. But I didn't
let that bother me, and I felt like I played a decent game after that.”"Coming in today, I just wanted to be rock solid back there, and give our team a chance to win the game."
Lundqvist was hoping that the offensive side of his team would make a much bigger impact this time around, seeing how they managed to edge Boston in overtime in Game 4, but it seems like all that momentum wore
off.
"I expected more from us, and I hoped for more," Lundqvist added. "Right now, it's just an empty feeling, and disappointment. Some years you don't really have a chance to go that far in the playoffs, you just
battle hard.”
Dan Girardi scored for the New York Rangers, giving them hope of working to maintain and extend that lead but two back-to-back goals from Boston in the second period killed it all off.
Torey Krug scored his fourth on a power play while Gregory Campbell made the tie-breaker at 13:41. Campbell got his second of the night on an assist from Nathan Horton on an empty net as New York pulled Lundqvist
out for another forward.
The schedule between Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins is yet to be announced.
