Boston Bruins stuck in Deep Hole against Vancouver Canucks in 2011 Stanley Cup Finals
Many people are starting to think, observing the Stanley Cup Final series, that Boston Bruins have dug themselves a hole and are stuck in it for good. Game 3 is set for Monday night in Boston, but will the two games be played and lost in Vancouver have an
effect on Bruins’ performance?
Boston Bruins might not realise it or even admit it, but according to the top analysts of the hockey world, they are trapped in a situation only a few have been able to climb out of.
It was back in Game 2 on Saturday when Canucks fans were going crazy after Vancouver won the second consecutive game of the series.
Bruins will now return to Boston and have the chance to capitalise on the home-ice advantage in Game 3 and 4.
Canadian fans are going crazy for their country’s first cup in over 18 years while Canucks’ fans hope to celebrate their first in over 40 years since they joined NHL as a franchise.
This motivating factor will without any doubt influence Bruins throughout the series as the best team in the league during the 2010-2011 season as its eyes are set on the Stanley Cup and they are ready to do anything for it.
In 46 such previous finals series, only four teams have been able to make a comeback and take the series after being down by 2-0 in the start.
Bruins must win the next two games at home if they want a chance at winning the cup and especially Game 3 since winning four consecutive games after that will be nearly impossible against a team like Vancouver.
"We'll be disappointed, and we're allowed to be", said Mark Recchi, who scored his first goal in 11 games on Saturday in Game 2. "But we'll take a lot of positives out of these games. When we get off that plane, we'll forget all about it. We'll worry about
Monday, and doing our job at home".
Game 3 is scheduled to begin on Monday in Boston between Vancouver Canucks and Boston Bruins, both, have lots to gain and to lose, at the same time.
