Boston Bruins win 5-1 against the Philadelphia Flyers to lead series 3-0
Boston Bruins hosted Philadelphia Flyers in the third game of the semi-final series this Wednesday at the TD Garden, that saw the Bruins winning the game 5-1.
The wins has put them a step closer to the Conference Finals as they lead the series 3-0 and with the form that they have shown, it looks as if they will certainly make their way into the Finals.
The game kicked off with the Bruins on the charge right from the start. They scored two goals in the opening two minutes to get themselves into the driving seat. The Flyers responded with quite a few shots on goal but they were unable to score and the period ended with the Bruins leading 2-0.
The second period saw both teams coming out strong, with the Bruins scoring twice again, however, the Flyers broke their deadlock and scored a much needed goal going into the final period.
The final period saw both teams firing plenty of shots on goal but it were the Bruins who scored to seal the game 5-1. Zdeno Chara, Captain of the Bruins, was named the star of the game as he scored two goals and ended the night with an assist.
The game started off with the Bruins exploding at the start and coming up with regular shots on goal. The Bruins captain Zdeno Chara scored through a powerful strike to get into the lead with just 30 seconds past in the game.
The Bruins didn’t take the foot off the gas and scored once again through David Krejci from a flick shot in the second minute to double the lead. Both teams kept on attacking continuously but they couldn’t find the back of the net.
There was lack in communication between the players on several occasions that resulted in no goals scored during the 20 minutes of play. The period ended with the Bruins leading 2-0 as they made 10 shots on goal while the Flyers made 12 goal attempts.
Both teams continued attacking as the second period kicked off and they immediately created chances for themselves. However, the success wasn’t the same in producing the goals early on. The Bruins scored in the 14th minute through Daniel Paille and then through Nathan Horton in the 16th minute to put themselves in the driving seat.
The Flyers also scored a goal in the 17th minute through Andrej Meszaros from a quick fired flick shot but it was the Bruins who led 4-1 as the teams went into the break.
The final period witnessed both teams coming up with shots on goal every now and then but it was the Bruins who scored a power-play goal in the 19th minute through Chara’s powerful strike to win the game 5-1.
