Boston Bruins wins 8-6 against the Montreal Canadiens in a high scoring match

The first game of Wednesday saw the Boston Bruins play host to the Montreal Canadiens at the TD Garden. This was the 808th game of the 2010 Compuware NHL Premiere Series and was expected to be a tight and entertaining encounter with both teams
pretty much even.
The game was one of the most productive games over the past few days which saw both teams scoring equal amount of goals in the second and third periods but the two goals scored by Boston Bruins proved to be the difference. In the end, it was Boston Bruins
who won 8-6 with Nathan Horton named the star selection of the game as he made three assists and scored a goal.
Montreal Canadiens despite with the away disadvantage made a decent start which saw them making a few goal attempts in the beginning. Canadiens could have easily taken the lead as the Bruins defence was shaky at the start. However, this didn’t happen and
Boston Bruins settled in the game with the passage of time.
After a good spell of a few minutes, Boston started to come up with strong attacks which saw them scoring twice during the 14th minute to establish two goals to their advantage. The first of these goals was scored by Brad Marchand while the second
was scored by Dennis Seidenberg. Boston Bruins continued to attack and there were several open goal chances but they couldn’t find the back of the net.
The period ended with Boston attacking continuously as they led 2-0. During the period Boston made 18 goal attempts while Montreal made 8 goal attempts.
The second was not dominated by one team but by the offence of both teams. The period saw a spectacular start with Montreal Canadiens scoring within the first minute through Brian Gionta to cut the lead to just a goal. P.K. Subban was the next goal scorer
who levelled the scores in the 9th minute from a brilliant long range shot.
Boston Bruins managed to respond to this with a goal in the 10th minute to get into the lead once again with Adam McQuaid scored from a quick fired shot.  The momentum in the game was swinging like a pendulum which was proved when Montreal Canadiens
scored once again in the 12th minute to level the score with the goal scored by Yannick Weber.
However, Boston Bruins took the lead scoring in the same minute through Michael Ryder’s well placed flick shot. There were two more goals in the 13th minute but the net result was still that Boston Bruins led by a goal. The first goal was scored
by Boston Bruin’s Milan Lucic while David Desharnias scored from a simple tip in shot.
However, Boston Bruins managed to regain two goals to their advantage with another goal in the 15th minute through Milan Lucic once again. The period ended with Boston Bruins leading 6-2 as they made 11 goal attempts while Montreal Canadiens made
16 goal attempts.

Horton in the 15th minute.
Although Montreal Canadiens scored through Max Pacioretty in the final minute but it was a little too late as Boston Bruins won the game 8-6.
