Boston Celtics, New Orleans Hornets – NBA teams that are on the verge of a collapse – NBA Special
Part-1
Just like times have changed, the National Basketball Association teams also need to change. The old teams having retained their roster for so long and at some point used to rock the NBA world, simply leaving the crowd awe-inspired
by their tremendous work are not those same teams anymore.
The players are starting to grow old and the roster beginning to lack in young energy: energy that will be able to bring back life to the courts and bring back the glorious days for the franchises. Team managements seriously need
to make some major inductions and provide the veterans with some sort of support and not just rely on these aging team members solely.
First up, we have the Boston Celtics. The 17 times world champion franchise that has won most championships in NBA history is relying too much on talent that lead it to the playoff finals in previous years but looks like its forgetting
that those players have grown old to actually lead to a championship. With players like Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen (all above 30) – Garnett and Allen 35, precisely – the game is too slow to compete with the other franchises like the Cleveland
Cavalier, who had the first pick in the 2011 Draft, and the Miami Heat, who have, well, about everything - the Heat has energy in the form of Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh and the LeBron James. The trio is considered the best combination and they were all brought
together under one roof.
With such competition out there, the Celtics will need more happening in their camp if they want to impress the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy enough to head their way next. With Garnett and Allen here only till this season,
the Boston need to get a move and bring back the vibes in the Boston Garden. They need to bring back those long awaited consecutive wins again!
Next up are the New Orleans Hornet. The Hornets are not turning out to be such a suitable place for the All-Star Chris Paul. The 6ft tall point guard must be tired of just waiting and waiting for Emmer Okafor and Trevor Ariza to
bring about some turnover in the game. It’s also in the franchises benefit to rid of point guard Chris Paul while they can with a decent trade before he becomes a free agent and just leaves them with no option at all to their benefit.
The former Demon Deacon Mascot is already looking for shelter in the Big Apple and will surely make better use of is skills with the New York Knicks in his run for the championship. The Knicks have long awaited his arrival. Hornets
might also do themselves some good by not signing any more disastrous contracts, such as Okafor’s. They need some positive players who can support Paul and take some pressure off his shoulders.
