Boston Celtics’ Rajon Rondo’s performance against New York Knicks: NBA Play-offs Update
The Boston Celtics have qualified into the NBA’s semi-finals after defeating the New York Knicks. The Celtics overpowered the Knicks in their best-of-seven of the first round series by 4-0. The Celtics swept the Knicks certainly in a bitter fashion and left
them with nothing, but to despair.
The Celtics’ all players had a pretty good impact in all those four play-offs’ games against the Knicks, but their guard, Rajon Rondo, left a shattering impression on the New York Knicks. His performance remained consistent which helped his team to advance
them through to the next round.
Rajon Rondo averaged 19.0 points per game in this year’s first round play-off series against the Knicks. He stayed almost 40 minutes on the court in every play-offs’ game and proved much vital for his team. Rondo not only scored brilliantly, but he also
assisted tremendously in every game letting other players to perform and score as well.
He averaged 12.0 assists per game and played altruistically all through the series. Rondo’s 7.30 rebounds’ average was also very impressive as he scored 29 rebounds in total in those four games.
The Boston Celtics qualified into the play-offs with pretty ease and grab the third play-off spot in the Eastern Conference. The Celtics headed into the play-offs with striking 56-26 record and buckled up their force to face the sixth seeded New York Knicks
in their best-of-seven first round play-off series in the same conference.
The first game was scheduled on Sunday, April 17, at TD Garden, Boston. Rajon Rondo came into this game with inner confidence and left with even greater self-assurance as his team successfully started their play-off campaign on a high note. The Celtics defeated
the Knicks in their play-off opener with 87-85 and never looked back in rest of the series and went on to crush the Knicks with 4-0. Rondo scored 10 points, nine assists and nine rebounds for the Celtics in the first game.
The next match again had a same result for both the teams as the Celtics enjoyed the second consecutive win and the Knicks swallowed the second straight defeat. The Knicks’ were beaten with 96-93 in which the Celtics’ Rajon Rondo scored thrilling 30 points,
seven assists and four rebounds. The momentum was building as the Celtics were going for the total demolition and their guard Rondo was helping them in this destruction.
The third game was played at Madison Square Garden, New York and the Knicks were hoping as they would turn the table around as they were playing in their back-yard.
Rajon Rondo came and scored 11 rebounds and assisted 20 points in the Celtics third play-off victory and close the day with 3-0 lead in the first round series.
Rondo kept his top form in-place and went further for total devastation in a must win match for the Knicks. They Game-4 resulted in a complete jubilation for the Boston Celtics as they reached the NBA semi-finals defeating the New York Knicks 101-89 at their
home court in the New York City.
Rajon Rondo impressed once again with his 21 points, 12 assists and five rebounds. His performance certainly proved as he remained the Boston Celtics’ best defender and in coming days especially in the semi-finals his performance will outshine many.
