Boston Celtics determined to reclaim the honour of the top team in the East against Indian Pacers
Boston Celtics’ recent slump has gifted the first spot in the Eastern Conference to the Chicago Bulls, who have won seven straight games. Celtics will look forward to overshadow Indiana Pacers at TD Garden on Wednesday night to
crop up a tie with Bulls for the top rank. Pacers will be arriving at Boston with two successive victories; both came opposing one of the best offensive teams in the league, the New York Knicks.
Tyler Hansbrough had milestone nights in both of the games against Knicks as a clinched a career-high 30 in the last meeting after setting a season best 29 a night before. He was averaging 10 points per game before that but exploded
outstandingly against Carmelo Anthony and Amar'e Stoudemire, supplying a strong message just before the playoffs.
The Celtics faced a couple of embarrassing defeats against the lowly teams which are even far away from the playoff run. The recent terrible stretch deprived them from the reputation of the best team in the East. Boston needs to
regain their strength to build up the confidence for the upcoming showdown.
Boston Celtics currently stands at the second spot in the Eastern Conference with 47 victories followed by 18 defeats. In the last 10 games, the line-up managed to win 6 games and were overpowered four times. They were quiet below
their winning percentage and lost against the weakest sides of the season.
At home, Celtics carry an outstanding record by winning 28 games in 34 home meetings. The big teams in the league were seen struggling against Boston’s unshakable strength at their home court.
On the other hand, Indiana Pacers is standing at the eighth spot in the same Conference with 29 wins and 38 defeats. Pacers are striving hard at the moment to remain in the playoff berth as they are massively haunted by Charlotte
Bobcats who are only one win behind. The line-up struggled to outshine the opposition off their court and won only 11 games out of 34 road meetings.
In the last 10, Indiana managed to win only 3 games and were defeated 7 times. However the fortunate thing for the team was that they lingered favorable to qualify for the upcoming showdown. Pacers showed some great strength in
the last two games by overpowering Knicks as they snapped their six-game losing streak.
Wednesday night will be filled with sheer excitement and immense anticipation as both the teams set foot on the court. Boston’s are determined to snatch their leading place from Bulls and Pacers will be looking forward to sustain
the 8th spot to make it to the playoffs. Both the teams have a big reason to win which makes it a crucial meeting.
Danny Granger will be the key player for Pacers who is averaging 20.7 points this season as Hansbrough has started to prove his ability to take charge surprisingly. Conversely, Paul Pierce is going to lead his line-up from the
front as his big gun Rajon Rondo will be assailing form the long distance making it difficult for the opposition to dominate.
