Boston College Eagles’ Alex Albright out for season
Boston College Eagles defensive end Alex Albright will be out for the rest of the season after fracturing his right fibula.
Albright was forced out of his club’s game against the Maryland Terrapins on 23 October, which his side went on to lose 24-21.
Albright has struggled with injury problems throughout his entire career at Boston College. The youngster was forced to sit out at the end of the 2008 season when he suffered a neck injury and also missed two games in 2007 when he broke his arm.
Albright is an important cog on the Boston College defence. The youngster is a starter and team captain. The club is likely to miss him a great deal as they have struggled in most statistical categories this season, but have experienced marginal success
on the defensive side of the ball. The club currently ranks 65th in the nation, averaging 25 points against per game.
The club did get a bit of good news when they learned that safety Wes Davis was not as seriously injured as first expected and has now been listed as day-to-day. Davis was stretchered off the field and taken to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital after suffering a
neck injury.
The Eagles have been horrible this season, sitting in last place in the Atlantic Coastal Conference’s Atlantic division with a 2-5 record and a 0-4 record against conference opponents. The squad won their first two games of the season against weak sides
from Weber State and Kent State, but have lost five straight since then. The club has four more conference games this season, the first of which comes against Clemson on Saturday 30 October.
This season with the Eagles Albright managed nine tackles for a loss, 4.5 sacks, and an interception.
