Boston Red Sox beat Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 – MLB News
Boston Red Sox showed great determination, fighting spirits and mental toughness as they edged past the Toronto Blue Jays 3-1 at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ontario on Thursday, May 2 in the finale of their three match series of
the 2013 Major League Baseball regular season.
Red Sox will be extremely happy with the outcome of the clash. With their win, the Red Sox also improved their record to 20-8. Boston finished at the bottom of the American League East Division standings table last season, which
forced them to make numerous changes in their batting and pitching line ups. With more depth and variety in their attack, the Red Sox are now creating all sorts of problems for other teams in the American League. It will be interesting to see if they can continue
the good work to strengthen their position at the top of AL East Division.
"He doesn't give in," Red Sox manager John Farrell said. "He didn't have his best stuff overall tonight but he uses the whole count when he needs to and he's got the knack to not let the game speed up on him and try to reach back
and just go with sheer velocity."

"I was able to make a couple of big pitches, especially with the bases loaded, and get out of my own mess I made," he said.
The Red Sox have some of the best pitching and hitting talent in their squad and it will not be wrong to say that they are favourites to win this year AL East pennant. Starting pitcher Ryan Dempster showed the stuff he is capable
of as he allowed just four hits and one run in six solid innings to claim his second win of the season. Relief pitchers Andrew Miller, Junichi Tazawa, Koji Uehara and Joel Hanrahan all made useful contributions as the Red Sox managed to hold on to their slim
lead to secure a memorable series win at Rogers Centre.
