Boston Red Sox crushed by Chicago White Sox 1-4 – MLB Update
Boston Red Sox were beaten by Chicago White Sox 1-4 at the U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago, Illinois on Sunday, April 29 in the finale of their three match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball regular season. The White Sox finally managed to win a game
against Boston to salvage some of their lost pride.
Although Red Sox lost the game, they head home with their heads held high. Adam Dunn displayed some high quality hitting skills in the first as he hit his fifth home run of the season to help his team take a crucial 3-0 lead.
"Absolutely. Especially since Phil did recently. It was natural, but obviously you have to put it behind you," Floyd said. "Your object is to get in there and as late you can and if it happens it happens. You just have to keep your focus and keep attacking."
For Boston, Dustin Pedroia had a good time on the plate as he singled in one out in the seventh to score the only run for his team. Gavin Floyd stuck out nine batters in just over six innings. He allowed just run and three hits to improve to 7-0 in his nine
outing against the Red Sox.
"He wasn't giving us much to hit," Pedroia said. "I had three at-bats off him and only got one pitch to hit. I actually got a hit on that one. He kept the ball out of the middle of the zone."
Chicago looked completely out of sorts in first three games of the series. Boston scored ten runs in each of the first two as they dominated their rivals in almost all aspects of the game. The White Sox put up a good fight in the third but once again Bobby
Valentine and his men proved too strong for them as they secured a decisive 3-0 lead in the series.
The win will be of great importance for the White Sox as it can lift their spirits going into their next series with Cleveland Indians. Despite losing the series 1-3, Chicago is still 11-11 this season and it will be interesting to see if they can give better
results in their upcoming games to change the course of their destiny.
