Boston Red Sox get permission to interview Cleveland Indians’ Sandy Alomar Jr. for manager's job

The Boston Red Sox has received permission from the Cleveland Indians’ management to interview their current bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr. for a potential manager’s job in their franchise.
The Red Sox management is now getting desperate after the September collapse where Tampa Bay Rays hammered their post-season qualifying expectations. They were leading the American League East Division in the 2011 regular season but down the stretch in September
they lost a total 20 games and won only seven games excluding a series defeat from the Rays.
That humiliation led the Red Sox to part ways with manager Terry Francona and find a successor for their franchise. The first candidate the Red Sox has selected to interview is the Indians young and energetic bench coach Sandy Alomar Jr.
While many are saying different things about this recent development in Red Sox management who will interview Sandy for manager’s job but this is yet to be determined as Alomar is ready to take his job to a new level and agrees to manage a new team in Major
League Baseball.
Alomar, who has played baseball at the highest level in the past, has tremendous leadership skills and his supervisory skills are already proven in the Cleveland’s franchise. The Indians’ manager Manny Acta is a great admirer of Alomar and commented to reporters
regarding his performance near the end of the season.
Acta said, “Sandy, even when he played, he showed that he had leadership skills. He has prepared himself very well and he's one of those guys that, not only was a very good player, but shown a passion to coach. He has shown the passion of staying in the
game. He's a good teacher with good personality.”
Sandy Alomar, who has a tremendous past professional baseball career, played as catcher for San Diego Padres (1988–1989), Cleveland Indians (1990–2000), Chicago White Sox (2001-04, 2006), Colorado Rockies (2002), Texas Rangers (2005), Los Angeles Dodgers
(2006) and New York Mets (2007).
The Boston Red Sox are looking forward for their interview with Sandy Alomar Jr. but only time will tell if he is really heading towards a potential job in the Red Sox franchise or not.
