Boston Red Sox humiliated by Cleveland Indians 8-3 – MLB Update
Boston Red Sox were humiliated by Cleveland Indians 8-3 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts on Thursday, May 10 in the opening game of their four match series of the 2012 Major League Baseball. The running season has turned out to be a disaster for the
Red Sox who have managed to win just 13 out of their 31 games so far.
Bobby Valentine had great expectations from his teams at the start of the season and he will be disappointed with what he has seen from the players in the last few weeks. Boston is considered one of the strongest teams in American League. It will be interesting
to see if the Red Sox can put up a better show in the other three games of the series to restore some of the lost pride.
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Red Sox have the ability to beat even the best in the business. For the Red Sox, it will be the question to give results on regular basis to win back their fans’ hearts. Indians, on the other hand, made the most of available
opportunities to secure an easy win. If they can do the basics right in the upcoming games, they will surely win the series.
"You never want to get booed at your home stadium," said Indians left fielder Johnny Damon. "He's a great pitcher. Had a bad night. He helped bring another championship here, but as we all know that can get lost in time."http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/30043/michael-brantley"He knows how to pitch with a lead," Cleveland manager Manny Acta said. "He had a lot of traffic throughout his outing, but he always seemed to make that pitch when he had to."http://espn.go.com/mlb/player/_/id/6393/dustin-pedroia"We get 18 off days a year," Josh Beckett said. "I think we deserve a little bit of time to ourselves."
C Kotchman hit a sacrifice fly to the right to help Cleveland score in the second inning. J Hannahan hit a towering home run to the right to give the Indians a handsome 3-0 lead. With Indians putting immense pressure, the Red Sox failed to handle their nerves
and eventually wore out.
