Boston Red Sox humiliated by Texas Rangers 3-18 – MLB Update
Boston Red Sox were humiliated by Texas Rangers 3-18 at Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts on Tuesday, April 17 in their regular season encounter of the 2012 Major League Baseball.
The Red Sox will be disappointed with their poor effort in front of their massive home crowd. It seemed Boston had no answers to the onslaught from their rivals as they struggled to find any momentum.
The Rangers, who have looked in commanding form for the past two weeks, made the most of available opportunities in a completely one sided game and they improved their win-loss record to 9-2.
They have now an impressive 4-0 away record this year and it will be interesting to see if they can continue their incredible from throughout this season to win the World Series finals.
Texas had 21 hits in total including a towering home run from Josh Hamilton. It will not be wrong to say that Red Sox’s pitchers were blinded by the flurry of home runs hit during the contest.
"Obviously I don't stand and watch it so I don't exactly where it hit," Hamilton said. "It felt good when it came off the bat."
Without a shadow of a doubt, the Rangers have the ability to flatten even the best in the business but the real challenge for them will be to overcome the likes of Detroit Tigers, New York Yankees and St. Louis Cardinals in the post season.
"He's a talented baseball player. That's how you describe him. He's a very talented baseball player," Texas manager Ron Washington said. "Nothing he does out there surprises me, at no time, because he's capable of doing it. It's not like that's something
(where) he just gets hot and that's going to happen."
"We're really good all the way up and down," said leadoff hitter Ian Kinsler. "One through nine, we're capable of scoring runs."
Bobby Valentine and his men have now lost seven out of their 11 regular season games. They were thrashed 3-0 in their three game series against Detroit Tigers. The only way forward for them is to adopt an aggressive approach to surprise their opponents.
