Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine shows optimism for next season – MLB News
The Boston Red Sox manager and skipper, Bobby Valentine is pretty optimistic for the 2012 Major League Baseball season as he has praised his team’s hard work in training seasons.
Recently, he arrived in at the West End House Boys and Girls Club in Allston, where he spoke to a group of young children and tried to explain them the true way of success. He also mentioned the Red Sox’s preparations for next year’s big event.
Valentine said, “I’m fine with that. I’d like to know, just like anybody else. But the team that won the world championship [the Cardinals] changed their closer during the season. You can win a world championship that way.”
He added with confidence, “I’ll figure out how to do it. His fingerprint is excellent, He has the pitches, and when we talked I liked the things he said. That was fun. Hopefully, it’s a good memory for them. Giving is a fun thing. It was good. He let me
into his home and I met his wife and kids.”
Valentine also explained about the spring training session and said that he is certainly very confident over his team’s homework for the next season. He did not disclose all details but Valentine was showing optimism towards 2012 being a good year for the
Red Sox.
Many experts also believe that the Red Sox are late risers and if their team remained consistent at the bottom half of the regular season, then they certainly have a fair chance to end up in a better position next season.
The city rivals of Sox are the Chicago Cubs and according to many baseball pundits, the next season will surely favour the Sox at most just because they have more potential starting and relief pitchers.
Valentine, however, is much more realistic about its hitters and sluggers. He had also mentioned before at the end of the 2011 regular season that Red Sox might come-up with a different plan next season, trying to add more hitters and sluggers in order to
achieve some positive thrust in entire roster.
