Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine worried over team performance – MLB News
The Boston Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine still to figure out over the recent poor form of his team who has lost three opening games of 2012 Major League Baseball season against the Detroit Tigers since the season has started.
These are certainly worrying moments for Valentine, who is watching these types of results from last two years. Last year, the Red Sox also lost six consecutive games while later just could not pick up the momentum failing to qualify for the post season as well. Though, they recovered in the mid season and started to win, but again lost the composure late in the regular season and came from the competition humiliated.
Valentine, who is at present the most criticised person in the Red Sox franchise, said for these latest defeats. He said, “We're trying to figure out what to do. We'll keep it a work progress. We're three games into this thing. See if it gives us a little spark, He’s a sparky kind of player, battles everyone.”
The Red Sox starting pitcher Mark Melancon who despite went with relatively good numbers, later said for his team’s latest performance and what they need at the moment to excel in the league, “We've really jelled together and I don't feel like that was an issue at all, Just comes down to making good pitches and I didn't do that. They're obviously a good team, but we didn't get that [win] today, and that's on my shoulders. I need to stay aggressive and not let these affect me, and keep going ... if I can ever sleep.”
Experts believe that the way Red Sox are playing at the moment can be dangerous for their potential chances to play in the post season. These experts also say that Red Sox certainly must need to focus on their defensive game.
Their manager Bobby Valentine might have brought a new strategy this offseason to bring back the Red Sox in the top competing teams, but this strategy seems likely to fade away soon and ultimately Chicago’s baseball franchise will need another different kind of game approach to compete well in the season.
