Boston Red Sox might sign free agent Nick Swisher – MLB Update
The Boston Red Sox are trying their best to make a potential offer to free agent Nick Swisher.
According to different close sources, the Boston Red Sox management is leading with a potential move to include switch hitter Swisher for the next Major League Baseball season.
“He is on their radar," the person said of the Yankees’ blood rivals who need a right fielder and first baseman and have vowed to spend money this offseason.
Along with many teams interest in Swisher’s free agency, the former New York Yankees ace also wants a good lucrative deal.
Swisher is a good player and knows the tricks of the trade in the Major League. He possesses a good .256 career hitting average along with 209 home-runs, 673 RBIs and .361 OBP.
He last played for the Yankees and finished with good numbers. His hitting average of .272 remained consistent throughout the season while he also struck 24 homers, 93 RBIs and .364 OBP.
“A lot of people saying a lot of things I’ve never heard before, Prime example — I missed that ball in the lights [in Game 1] and next thing you know I’m the reason that [Derek] Jeter got hurt. It’s kind of frustrating. They were saying [Jeter’s injury] was my fault,” Swisher said as he explained regarding his next season’s commitments.

Nick Swisher is a talented player and has competed with different Major League teams in the past. He started his career in 2004 with the Oakland Athletics and later went onto play for the Chicago White Sox and New York Yankees.
During his career in the big league, he has achieved All Star selection in 2010 and also won the World Series with the Yankees.
Next few weeks will be critical as Swisher’s potential future affiliation will come out in the media while Red Sox remain favorites to sign him.
