Boston Red Sox prospect, Ryan Westmoreland, making progress in recovery
Major League Baseball is preparing to enter Thanksgiving and with the pursuit of glory on the cards, there seems to be a resonance of motivation within ball teams. Every club is looking at success and while the San Francisco Giants achieved major glory during
the 2010 campaign, there is a chance to optimize results in the coming year.
The teams are currently reorganizing their rosters and hierarchal positions in the off season. Spring Training is set to commence in the middle of February and that presents a time limit for franchises to plan ahead in contingency for the coming year.
Many top teams in the league were left scuffling in the last season and it didn’t take long for first time World Series competing side, Texas Rangers, to go up against a desperate Giants side that had not laid claim on the ultimate prize since 1954.
Now with the upcoming season in its infancy, there is a list of options waiting to be taken up and that offers a variety in choice and planning for the coming years.
The Boston Red Sox have been through a lot of problems since the last time they went through to the playoffs. With a long injury list, there are now players looking to go out of the club in search for lucrative deals in the market. Victor Martinez is one
catcher, who is highly valued in the market. Apart from him, there is Adrian Beltre, who has taken the gist of attention in the free agency.
In the wake of injuries, another player made his way to the infirmary. Prospect Ryan Westmoreland is one outfielder, who has been in the news for injury worries over the past year.
However, the 20 year old has been on a road to recovery from an operation dealing with the cavernous malformation in his brain. The young ball player was rumoured to have left the game but he’s getting back in shape, steadily with a workout regiment, spanning
3–4 days a week. The Red Sox star is currently residing in Fort Myers, Florida.
Ryan came out to comment on his situation recently. He said, “We’re just seeing how it plays out right now. If something happens where I can play next year, that would be great. But we’re not looking forward like that. We’re just taking it day by day, seeing
how things progress. If it’s meant to be, it’s going to happen. But I’m ready to wait. If patience is what it takes, I’m ready for it”.
