Boston Red Sox starting pitcher Bobby Jenks looks confident after several surgeries
The Boston Red Sox’s starting pitcher Bobby Jenks, who has suffered a great deal of health troubles, now looking in great shape to recover from the after effects of his several back surgeries.
Jenks arrived in Arizona to see his teammates training in Spring Training camps. He looked thin and slight pale, but still with great enthusiasm to feature in the next Major League event.
As soon as he arrived on the training ground, several media personals gathered around him and asked many questions about his late recovery level and how he is viewing himself in the upcoming season and how well he can perform. Reporters also asked him about the chances of his come-back at the middle of the season or start of the season (Opening Day).
Jenks not only gave all questions’ answers with great detail and  confidence, but he also told them in detail about his chances of making a potential comeback and how is feeling currently regarding his own fitness level for the next big event in the Major League. Jenks said, “I’m basically starting at Day 1. Obviously my winter didn’t go very well. I don’t know whose fault it was, but there was an error done inside. Because I had four bone spurs basically on my spine, we had talked about taking the top two.”
He added, “The third one was started and not finished, there was like a serrated edge. It sliced me open in two different spots, and I was leaking spinal fluid. It just kind of blew up on me. That caused an infection that climbed up that incision wound, so now I had an infection in my spine.”
Though many believe as Jenks will be making a comeback sooner or later, but he cannot play like he used to play before these surgeries. While several experts think, Jenks will be a great help again for the Red Sox despite these late surgeries. They also believe as he might have lost the flair in his game, but with few months’ training, he will be back on the track frightening many hitters with his exceptional throwing.
