Boston Red Sox’s manager Bobby Valentine hopeful for Dustin Pedroia – MLB Update
The Boston Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has given his top management a bit of a shocker when he left early during the game against the Miami Marlins.
He was injured with torn muscle in his right thumb and had to sit in the locker room for early treatment.
On the other hand, as long as this news spread in the media, several reporters started asking questions from the Red Sox’s management who later gave detailed answers.
Initially the Red Sox manager Bobby Valentine came to media and explained the situation regarding Pedroia’s current condition.
“It’s early for a complete update, of course, He said — this is third-hand — that he was more fearful than he was injured. The ball was an inside pitch that pushed the bat back in his hand the way he didn’t want it to. He pushed back. It was about 95 mph.
And he thought it might have been a reoccurrence. We’ll see how it is.” Sox manager Bobby Valentine said for his player who got injured during the game against the Miami Marlins.
Valentine added with little assurance from GM whom he talked about Pedroia is detail, “Ben talked to the trainers and to Dustin, I guess, during the game,” “He just told me that, so I’m not sure what the procedures are from here. I’m sure we’ll take all
precautionary measures.”
Later the team’s general manager Ben Cherington also hoped well for his player. He also believes that Pedroia who is a great asset to the franchise at the moment, will be treated with possible way and soon be returning to the field.
The Red Sox who also need his services are slight worried over the situation. They know that as long as Pedroia is injured, they must keep their momentum to achieve the post season spot.
Pedroia, who now will miss some potential playing time, also knows how important his return is for the team as well as for his own game.
Before getting injured, he was playing with .269 hitting average along with five homers and 26 RBIs and .326 OBP.
