Boston Rocker to prevail in the Shadwell Stud Harry Rosebery Stakes
The Class 1 Shadwell Stud Harry Rosebery Stakes (For The South Ayrshire Cup) (Listed Race) has pulled together a line-up of ten two-year-old runners. The race will be hosted by Ayr on Friday, 21st September and has offered the £14,178 prize money
for the winner of the five furlong race.
Not all the entries have raced at Ayr yet and those who have tried have failed to accomplish anything near decent at the race track.
One of the most consistent entries in the line-up is the two-year-old, Boston Rocker. The bay filly has a consistent second score since the last three races all of which were at different race tracks. Today will be her first try of the career at Ayr.
The Edward Lynam trained settled right after the winner, Parliament Square, in the Danehill Dancer Tipperary Stakes (Listed Race) on 24th July, 2012 at Tipperary over five furlongs.
Half-way down the track distance, the mount of Shane Foley, raced in third. She kept a firm hold of the pace inside the final furlong, and missed the wire by the negligible margin of just half-length.
Acclamation’s two-year-old daughter maintained her composure in the next race too, she ended as the runner-up in the Breda Miley Race on 6th August, 2012 at Naas over six furlongs.
This time yet again she lost the battle right at the brink of winning it, missing the wire by the mark of just half length as the race was won by the favourite entry, Lightnin Hopkins.
The Irish bay filly scored a second position for a third time in the Manguard Plus Curragh Stakes (Listed Race) on 25th August, 2012 at Curragh over five furlongs.
Despite putting in all the possible effort and dedication, the two-year-old out of, Rocking, Boston Rocker, qualified as the runner-up, collaring Three Sea Captains, and losing by a neck’s margin.
She has raced over five furlongs before, and if she powers over the leader in the field during the decisive stages then victory over the competition today is inevitable.
Boston Rocker will try her luck at the prize money with Shane Foley riding.
