  1. below the minimum, work for tips, tips are added to the wages, if that total is not equal to the minimum, then they will make up the difference.

  2. Most restaurants indipendent and chain give you a $2. and change starting wage. You then need to work very hard and get tips. Some bust restaurants will have you leaving with over $200 a night if they are steady.

A lot of hotels usually start their hourly pay a bit higher, usually around $6 and hour, but keep in mind their restaurants are not as busy.

  3. 2.50 an hour +tips. My GF works at hooters and makes around 300 a night!

  4. They get paid something like $2.50 an hour and the rest is tip based.  The tips depend on the restaurant

  5. It depends on where you work. If you work at Newbury St with an outdoor cafe component, you can make alot of money. I know when I worked at a very popular restaurant on Newbury St, servers would walk with anything from 80-200 bucks a night. You get paid $2.50/hr but the tips can be so good. Try to work at either a touristy place like the Cheesecake Factory, where they turn tables quick, or a really nice place like Mistral where tables stay longer but patrons rack up nice big bills. It all depends on how good of a server you are. And whatever you do, try to avoid places that have a big European following. Euros rarely tip well since they are used to the tip being included. It wasnt uncommon for Euros to leave a 10% tip after making you bust your butt all night long. Good Luck!

  6. Minimum wage for servers is $2.85 an hour...
