Question:

Boston vr2 or kef iq7?

which one is the best. i'm expecting speaker without harshness. So, i didn't like paradigm & MA RS6. i was impressed by kef IQ7 & i don't have provision here to auditition boston. But i got very good reviews for Boston. Shall i risk buying boston without auditioning.

As much as I like Boston Acoustics, I would choose the iQ7 between the two because of the tweeter position in the KEF which would give you nearly ideal imaging.  Plus, if you have already auditioned the iQ7 and like the sound, I don't think you would be left wanting by missing out on the VR2 -that is, unless the price is substantially less.

    If you can afford a little more, another speaker system (a sleeper IMHO) to consider, which to me is the most impressive petite floorstander since the JMlab Daline 3.1 is the Silverline Audio Prelude.  As good as the iQ7 is, it's not quite high-end, whereas the Prelude (although entry-level high-end) is.  Incredibly well voiced and smooth reproduction from top to bottom, super small footprint belying their nearly true full-range sound.  If you can find a deal on these, wow!  I've owned a pair myself.  The only down-side (if you would consider it that) is that you can only get them in a light Cherry vinyl or a dark Rosewood vinyl finish.
