  1. Fertilizers come with a mandatory requirement (by law) of 3 numbers in order they represent nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium content. You will see these represented as 8 - 16 - 8 or 13 -13 -13 or 24 -19 - 0 the number designates proportion if the number is 0 there is none. There can be other various combinations of the numbers. Sometimes trace elements like iron, manganese, zinc etc are added these are stated as well (often under the numbers or elsewhere on the package. Fertilizers can be quick release or timed release. Time release usually have a coating that breaks down gradually to release the agents. A higher first number would be for quick growth. A high middle number would encourage flowering and fruiting and a higher third number would encourage rooting. Example for spring grass 13-13-13 or 24 -12-12 for fall grass  maybe 6-8-14 often you will notice two of the numbers add up to the other third number.  answer -So chemical composition is in the numbers.

  2. maybe yes but much stronger chemical than other plants

  3. Yes.  They may be stronger or weaker, but cacti still require nitrogen, potassium, and phosophorus.
