Both burners seem to explode at different times

Question

I have had one, for a while, of my burners make this boom sound extinguishing the infrared burner during cooking but still glows at the bottom making a hissing noise. Now the other burner is doing the same thing. It scares the heck out of you if you are standing in front of the grill cooking. You can turn the grill off & relight the pilot light and start the burners back up after it cools down. It only takes a few minutes to blow up again. Both burners are doing it now and I have the cooking dial below the halfway mark with this occurs. What do I need to do to fix this problem & apparently huge safety concern?
