  1. Mexican describes ethnicity and citizenship but not race (Mexicans are various mixtures of Caucasian, indigenous and African races as you've observed).  You can call yourself Mexican, Mexican-America, Hispanic or Latina as you see fit.  IMO it's sad when young people are ashamed to be Mexican.

  2. Noone will be referring to you or youre people as Americans anytime soon. Not with that attitude. We have deported more mexicans in the last 6 months than in the last 5 years. Enjoy.

  3. Are your parents citizens or green card holders?  I would imagine if they left Mexico to go the USA, they would want you to proudly declare yourself American...since they LEFT the country you wish to reclaim.

You can be proud in your Hispanic culture....but if your parents went to all the trouble to leave their country for the US and have you as a US citizen...wouldn't they prefer you to hold onto your cultural roots but be a proud US citizen?

I mean, I'm French Canadian and proud of my French Canadian heritage.  When I move to the US, I will still hold onto my culture..but will PROUDLY embrace being American and insist that my Canadian-born children do the same.  I wouldn't leave my country to come to the US unless I believed that being American was more important to my family than the country we were leaving.

  4. American thats it. I hate it when people that are born in the states and they say there something there not. If your born in another country and then became a LEGAL citizen, then you are a WHATEVER-AMERICAN.

  5. Sure! You are Mexican American and you might qualify for Dual Citizenship if you want it.

  6. well: yes according to Immigration  that your both Parents

are  Hispanic Family Members of course  you know the answer Politics & Government  says We Speak English as

Second language just the same thing with Educational Learning Skills  (Common Unity )  respects each 1 Community  today ! I am a American Citizen   absolutely

    yourself is an Mexican

  7. If your parents were Mexican citizens at the time of your birth, you have a right to Mexican citizenship.  Your parents can get you a Mexican passport and you can return to Mexico at any time.

  8. of course you are, Mexican, American or Mexican American.

  9. In fact you are.  By the terms of the 14th amendment, if your parents are subject to the jurisdiction of the United States and you are born here, you are a citizen.  If your parents are not subject to United States jurisdiction, your citizenship follows your mother.

You are a citizen of Mexico.

  10. Yes, that is your heritage. Nobody is truly American except for the native american indians.

  11. You can call yourself anything you wish - I like to refer to myself by my ethnicity rather than strictly by citizenship. This can lead to  interesting  conversations with the people that I meet.

  12. Yes..you are Mexican. You are Mexican-American.

In other words, you are a CHICANA.

Be proud of it and I would suggest you to take a Chicano Literature/History class-- you will learn A LOT and be more in touch with your "Chicanismo"

Along with the course, you will learn why some Mexicans do not like the term "Hispanic" & the history from which it rose. So I would describe you as Mexican-American/Chicana/Latina

  13. Yes. Because you are. My grandma is from mexico and my other grandma is from England. and that's a weird combination.

  14. Of course, but if you have a choice think long and hard before you take action. It is just one of those things you don't want to get wrong.

  15. Yes, you can call yourself mexican or hispanic, or pretty much anything you like.

  16. Yes, be proud to be Mexican-American

  17. You are a Mexican!! same as me. We might have been born far from our home country, but it runs in our veins.

Don't ever lose your roots and culture. Someone with out roots is someone worthless.

Your ancestors were Mexican. Don't dishonor your ancestors by turning your back on your home on your people.
