  1. amps overheat, at least all amps ive ever dealt with do, especially after loud play.

factors that may impact this are how well ventilated your system is and how hot the weather is

what i do if im just out for a ride and wanna have the volume up is roll down the back windows and collapse the seat forward to allow airflow into the trunk, where my box is located.  if i do that the amp doesnt overheat even in 90 degree weather....as long as there is air flowing around it

then again you may not have a car that works like that

    good luck either way tho

  2. there's several reason why your amps might be getting hot.

the easiest to figure is strenuous use of your amp means it working over time to produce the power and the more power used the hotter it will get. and also if theres no air to keep it cool or enough air getting to it so its just a hot and enclosed in your trunk or wherever it is.

what you might want to do is by a fan and mount it somewhere close to your amp so it can get air.

but your amp is most likely fine kickers make high quality electronics the can sustain the heat.
