  1. abiotic factors= temperature, light intensity, soil ph, humidity level etc. non living mainly environmental

biotic factors=organisms such as predators, parasites, etc. living things

abiotic determine the shape of the landscape eg marine, savannas etc..(plants mainly) which in turn determine the types of habitats, food chains/webs and this will determine what type of organisms that will live/interact within this ecological system.

biotic factors control mainly the food chains, population size of an organism in its environment.

both biotic and abiotic factors determine ecological systems and interact at different levels.

    eg

amount of sunlight and water availability etc => types of flora # and habitat structure => types of organisms feeding on these (herbivores#) => types of predators #

#biotic factors also involved at this level to affect population size, reproduction, survival (hence determine if a population will thrive or die for example)
