Question:

Both toilet handles are hard to push down in my house - why?

ha ha! mr Sniffy that made me LOL!! seriously folks tho, the handles are positioned as tho i have just pushed them down ..so to actually flush...there is only a tiny amount of give....i want a lovely full swing of the handle....

  1. It is usually caused by the grease (Vaseline) around the flap in the top of the toilet has worn off, making the pressure of the water on top of the flap hard to open. I would turn the water off to the toilet and flush and then add the Vaseline to edge of flap (cleaning with napkin 1st in case of grim buildup) and turn water back on flush a couple of times that should do it...


  2. The sewage plant doesn't want anymore.... they are telling you something.

  3. Could be bent levers or the nut that holds the handle in place was overtightened. These nuts are usually left-hand threads.
