In the Pool B match of the ongoing http://www.senore.com/Cricket/ICC-World-Cup-2011-c100625 Africa Under-19s World Cup Qualifier, Botswana Under-19s secured a 113-run win against Sierra Leone Under-19s at Entebbe Cricket Oval.
After being asked to bat first, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Botswana-c2857 Under-19s had a disappointing start by losing their first wicket with only a run on the board. However, the second-wicket partnership between Captain Ameer Saiyed and Thuso Motlogelwa yielded results as the two batsmen
led their side towards 69 runs and were looking in good form before Alvin Williams crashed the party by nabbing the wicket of Saiyed, who faltered after a knock of 43 runs off 57 deliveries.
Motlogelwa then partnered with Inzimam Master and this partnership caused a lot of trouble for the fielding side as well. The two batsmen continued the batting onslaught and took the score to 130 before the departure of Master, who had his stumps shattered
by Samuel Coker after slamming a knock of 29 runs off 38 deliveries.
With 139 runs on the board, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Williams-c98034 struck again by grabbing the important wicket of Motlogelwa, who hit 37 runs before finding his way off the field.
After losing four wickets, Botswana needed to halt the bowling onslaught, however, they lost their next wicket with 143 runs on the board as the fans saw Amin Mehraj walk off the field with only eight runs to his name.
Huzaifa Babar and Shweth Bhargava also failed to craft a big partnership as the latter fell with seven runs to his name.
After Babar departed for 19, with his side struggling on 188, things seemed heading south for them, however, the penultimate-wicket stand between Thatayaone Tshose (22) and Aarnav Ram (10) changed the course of the game as the two managed to end the innings
with 217 runs on the board.
http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sierra-Leone-c3004 Under-19s had a terrible start to their run chase as they lost two wickets with only five runs on the board. The third-wicket partnership between Richard Tommy and Brima Ansumana also failed as the batsmen could take the score to only 17 runs
before the latter fell with 11 runs off his bat.
Botswana’s Dhruv Maisuria then left the opposition begging for mercy as he finished with five wickets to his name and was named as the Player of the Match for decapitating Sierra Leone Under-19s. Consequently, with Tommy as the highest scorer for his 24,
Sierra Leone were all-out for 104 in 32.2 overs.
