After being asked to bat, the Nigerian openers http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Rajendra-Sharma-c83498 and SO Olayinka gave their side  a brilliant start of 51 runs before the fielding team tasted their first success of the day on the demise of SO Olayinka, who perished after scoring 33 runs.
With 55 runs on the board, Nigeria suffered the loss of their second wicket when E Ofem, perished without scoring a run off seven deliveries.
After the number-three batsman, it was time for S Adedeji to take the field, however, his partnership with the opener was short-lived as Sharma was the next batsman to find his way off the field after he was dismissed by Master with 18 runs off his bat.
At the time of this wicket, Nigeria were lingering on 64 runs.
S Adedeji was disappointing as he could score only three runs before hitting the showers, leaving his side stranded on 67 runs.
These were testing times for the batting side, however, skipper AP Adegbola and D Olatunji came to the rescue as they rebuilt the innings, halting Botswana’s bowling onslaught.
Giving a remarkable performance, the batting duo led the side towards 165 runs, before Withey crashed the party by dismissing Adegbola for 43.
With S Olatunji losing his wicket for a duck, CN Onwuzulike stood his ground and provided Olatunji the supported that was needed at this crucial juncture in the match.
Finally, with 248 on the board, this partnership met its end on the wicket of the latter, who found his way back to the pavilion after scoring 29 runs.
Meanwhile, Olatunji stayed unbeaten on a handsome knock of 125 runs as he saw his side post a fighting total on the board.
From Botswana, N Master was the best bowler with four wickets to his name.
JO Ogunlola then wreaked havoc upon his rivals as he finished with five wickets to his name, playing an important role in dismantling the opposition on 116 runs. O Onwuzulike was the second best bowler from his side with four wickets in his bag.
