As of now, right this second you need 25.98 to buy 1 stock of microsoft. But buying just 1 stock is not wise.

The above person said open an account to get quotes. You dont need to open an account. Just go to google finance (http://finance.google.ca/finance?hl=en&t... and type in the company name or symbol to get the prices.

it depends on how much stock you want to buy and the broker you get it though. i do most of my trading with Scottrade and i have found them very easy to use. Currently it is trading around 26 dollars a share.

Depends on how many shares you want. I bought some Microsoft stock a few days ago at $27.90 per share and now it dropped another $2.00. I would wait because it looks like stocks will continue to drop. Wait for a better price. You can open up an account at MSN and get stock quotes for free.
