Bouchard/Wozniak rally past Gajdosova/Zakopalova in the quarter-finals – Texas Tennis Open 2012 
Canadian duo of Eugenie Bouchard and Aleksandra Wozniak trounce over the Aussie-Czech tandem of Jarmila Gajdosova and Klara Zakopalova in the quarter-finals of the Texas Tennis Open held on Wednesday. The Canadian team smashed
their rivals in approximately one hour and qualified for the next round by a 6-2, 6-4 win.
The right-handed Canadian tennis professionals were unable to hold their opening serve of the match and got down by 0-1 right away. However, they quickly gained back their momentum, levelled the scores by 1-1, breaking their
opponent’s serve early. They then took the opportunity and battled past their rivals to win all the subsequent games in the set. The Aussie-Czech duo scored their second game a little too late in the set and the Canadians grabbed the last three games in response,
closing out the set with a 6-2 score.
Bouchard and Wozniak could not bang their enemy with any ace and committed double faults once. They had a higher serve percentage of 60, bagging eight of 15 first serve points. The Canadian participants were able to attain
three of five break points in the opening set. Similarly, Gajdosova and Zakopalova could not smash any ace whereas double faulted twice. The right-handers managed to secure 52 first serve percentage, converting six of 13 first serve points. Furthermore, they
managed to claim four out of eight cracking break points in the set to keep the upper hand.
The second set proceeded in the similar format. Nevertheless, the Canadian faced a tough competition at the hands of their rivals, equalizing the scores through the initial part of the set. A series of break points was witnessed,
but the Canadian pair struggled hard to attain their lead and eventually jolted a 6-4 score line to come out as the winner.
The Aussie-Czech participants banged two aces and double faulted twice. They had a low first serve percentage of 48 percent, picking up eight of 13 first serve points. The Canadians fired a single ace against their rivals
and made one double fault. Comparatively they had an average first serve percentage of 55, consolidating 11 of 17 first serve points.  Luckily, they managed to pick two of five break points; on the other hand, their opponents merely attained one of five serve
breaks.
The Canadian duo will contest against the Dekmeijere/Falconi in the semi-finals.
