Question:

Bougainvillea trouble?

Hi,

I have two container bougainvillea in my court yard about 1 year old. I water them once every week.

The flowers are large and there are a lot of them, however, the leaves aren't doing as well. Before I water them, the leaves look dry, curly and limping but stay green, after I thoroughly water them, many of the smaller leaves would turn yellowish overnight and fall.

Am I doing anything wrong? Do I need to change the frequency and amount of watering ? Thanks a lot

  1. don't get the leaves wet before the sun reaches them as this will burn them, try misting the leaves in the cooler evening air. look around your neighborhood to see if anyone else is growing them. gardeners always love to share knowledge. go to the garden center and ask about what food they recommend for them

  2. I don't think they like water much. Here is a site that should help you find your answers. Cant copy and paste but you may be over watering.
