  1. If you want a cheap paint job, that isn't the best paint job ever but does well for the price. Go to Walmart/lowes/home depot/ Ace and pick up a couple cans of what they call Appliance Epoxy. Its used for painting household appliances.

Works well for a cheap fix on aluminum hull boats, just be sure to clean and prep the metal first, otherwise it won't last for anything.

  2. My son is doing the same thing.  His father said to get it sand blasted to get the paint off.

  3. remove old paint with nitromors.clean all the old paint off.then apply etching primer.allow this to dry then apply your top coat.

  4. I just finished one and used paint remover then pressure washer. After that a wire brush in angle grinder. I then cleaned with mineral spirits then washed with vinegar before I used Rustleoleum oil base exterior enamel.

  5. Remove old paint, but chemicals or sanding.

Apply an epoxy paint specifically for aluminum (Lowes, Home Depot, or a Marine Store).
