Bought a baby doll for my 3 yr old

Question

i just bought a baby doll for my daughter. as soon as we got in the house and opened the baby up sahe laid the baaby down for a nap. it has been about 2 hours and she still hasnt really played with it. should i stop buying things for her or make her play with it. i told her if she didnt play with it i was going to give it to little KaiLei. all that did was make her pretend doctor on her fo r about a minute and she lost interest again that fast. what is wrong with my princess.

When I was little, i hated baby dolls. take her to the store and see what she is interested in playing with. I never liked dolls, barbies, or anything girly like that but I'm a very feminine female now. Just because she doesn't like dolls doesn't mean she can't be a princess

Maybe she's not in the mood for it today. My daughter doesn't play with every toy every day, somedays she's mom, some days she's shopping with her cart full of fake groceries, and other days she doesn't even bring toys out, she just "helps" me all day. And then there are the days where I have 35 board books all over the place and we read each one at least 15 times, lol. Give her some time. Good luck!

Nothing is wrong with her - she's a toddler with a normal attention span.  I'm sure she'll pick up the doll from time to time, especially as she gets older.  You can try and play WITH her, showing her how to feed the baby and change the baby's diaper.  She might just not understand how to play with a baby doll.  

One thing I do with my daughter, is when I get a new toy I put some older ones away for a little while and then swap them out a month or two later and it's like brand new!  I also shop for toys at yard sales and thrift shops so I'm not disappointed if she doesn't like something because I didn't spend a lot of money on it.

my 4yr old son is like that. He would want a toy so bad, and when I buy him the toy he wanted, he'll open right away (couldn't wait to get home to open it) He'll play with it for a couple hrs then throw it somewhere. I'll ask him where's your toy baby? He said "ohh yeah I forgot about it" and he runs to it and gets the toy. it might be that she forgot about the toy or Sometimes they just want it to have it. I'm sure everyone was once like this when they were little. Don't force your daughter to play with it because it's not gonna be fun for her. Its like someone forcing you to play a game u don't wanna play right? And she's still a little girl, so don't stop buying her toys. If you wanna save money on buying toys, grab some old toys she hasn't play with for a while, just wrap it up and give it to her as a present. I've heard that the kids will actually play with it and plus you save money.
