  1. A way to a guinea's heart is through its stomach, they're hungry little things :)

Sit with it on your own, don't talk loudly - say nothing or make gentle murmuring noises to it. Stroke it gently in the direction of the fur and give it some vegetables or apple/tomato. DON'T shout at him/her even if they do something wrong.

As long as you are nice to him/her, he/she should soon get used to you.

My guinea pigs know us well now (they have been here nearly 4 years) but they still run away every time we pick them out of the cage, even though they like to sit on us when we are cuddling them.

    Good luck!

  2. 1. Thank you for buying a skiddish one! At our pet store there is this one guinea who is just the craziest little girl you have ever seen and she has been there for like, 3 months maybe.

    2. My sis and I share a guinea pig. For a while it only liked my vicious younger sister and was always all uncomfortable around me. So I did this thing called 'Alone time' And we hold her and be by her for 10 minutes a day, with out the other interfering. She now likes me. Another thing to do is feed it pet it and brush it with a baby brush or a special one from stores. Peanut, my baby LOOOOVES that. If you can do all that at once, and that is including alone time, give it a little time and you could have a buddy for life! Oh, and easy on the snacks and greens. Too much snacks are tummy aches and too much greens are diarrhea.

  3. Look up on google how to tame your 2nd guine pig. I'm sure it'll get used to you.. Oh and when you hold it do it carefuly and talk to it softly. Then it might want to be handfed after a few more times of your TALK TO IT SOFTLY thing...

  4. When you go to reach for the little piggie, make shure you slowly pet it and let it smell you. I have very good experince with Guinea Pigs beacuse I have 6 Guinea Pigs at the moment. Also I have delt with skiddish g****a pigs that squeal when you reach for them at the S.P.C.A Shelters. Hope it helps :D

  5. If you bought the guinea pig from a pet store there is very high chance that t*t has mites and/or lice. This will cause the guinea pig to be skiddish and not want to be touched because it is uncomfortable. Whenever a guinea pig is found to be very skiddish we take them to the vet and get them on a round of Ivermectin to treat the possible parasites. This is always a good idea anyways, as most guinea pigs from petstores do end up with the parasites, even if they aren't itching yet.

  6. I own 25 guinea pigs and at this present time 4 babies that are skitish use slow movements when around them, and leave them with your other pig for a while, they'll eventually get use to it's new surroundings and calm down
