bought from us to australia is being held in customs does anyone know how much it will approximatley cost?

  1. They should have sent you a letter with the cost on it.  Or a reference number and a phone number to ring to arrange payment.  It also may have had an additional tariff on it.  Depending on the item


  2. I dont quite understand what you are asking as your question is not very clear - but what I understand from what you have written is that the guitar is being held at Australian Customs because you need to pay GST on it?

    In Australia, GST is 10% of the price of the product or service - You may want to speak with someone in Australian Customs to confirm this is all they require..... I hope this helps

  3. Because we have a Free Trade Agreement with the US, you shouldn't have to pay any import duty. You should only need to pay GST at the rate of 10%.

    BTW, if it's second hand, make sure customs know this. In Australia, GST is not payable on 2nd hand goods and that probably also applies to things coming in from overseas.
