  1. What kind of hibiscus?  Tropical, perennial, annual, hardy?  It makes a difference.

Email me and I'll try to help you more.

  2. post a picture if you can, especially the bloom.

Edit. What you've got is a typical tropical, double bloom variety Hibiscus.Scientific name Rosa-Sinensis. Maybe something like a Celia or Jane Cowl. There are literally hundreds and hundreds of varieties. Your's is not a dwarf. With that said, there's a catch with hibiscus labeled as dwarf, in that genetically hibiscus won't grow as a dwarf, a hibiscus labeled dwarf has been treated with a growth inhibiting hormone and will eventually outgrow the effects of such. We grow 6 double bloomers at our nursery and they all pretty much share the same growth rates, they're fast to very fast growers, and in 3 gallon containers I've seen them reach 4ft and more in one spring and summer growing season. This following spring (once the nights reach an average of 60 degrees) I would transplant your's into a pot roughly 1/3 larger than the one its in now, unless you intend to put it in the ground. Here's a link to our site you can see our hibiscus.
