I pay big duckets for cable, work hours that dont allow me prime time tv viewing, and am now wondering what the flyin H is this new recorder good for? No one warns you of this on the box when you buy it, what the H is wrong with this country? The government protects these a hoes so they can sell their products to us unknowing consumers without having to tell us what we can not do with these products. Now to my question...is there a way around this? My recorder is a JVC.

  1. Any DVR (PVR) with a CableCard slot  allows you to record premium channels from Cable. You still need to get a cable card from your provider though.

JVC recorder does not mean much - A model # would be more helpful.

In most cases, it is just easier to get a PVR from your cable provider.

  2. why not return it? or call your cable company to ask they why it wont record anything, it should though.
