Bought a playstation 2 and it only plays playstation1 games

i dont know my brother has a playstation 2 and it play only ps2 games  it must be broken if its brand new then take it back and get a new one but if its old take it back and get ur money back

A PS2 that doesn't play PS2 games! Well i suggest you better return it to the store, because  it is broken.

But are you sure your ps2 game doesn't have different region code than your system(i.e. European game on USA system?).
