Bought new battery for dv9000t

Bought new battery for dv9000t but monitor says "Charging, 0% available" And indeed after several hours still no charge. There's probably a trapdoor disconnect as part of the complex electronics inside a Lion battery to prevent charging when cells are out of acceptable parameters. I would not be surprised if there isn't a way to perform a reset from the 6 external pins. Agreed Lion charging is not for the begining level of understanding. Any guru out there on this matter?
