It says on it best before Aug. 8, but when I bought it, it was soft as it wasn't frozen. So I immediately froze it; is it okay to eat now? How do I thaw it? overnight in fridge or hot water?

  1. Yes.  Expiration date is only for meat that is going to be kept in the fridge.  Thaw meat overnight in fridge if you have the time.  I use the microwave and calculate the weight to a little less than it is actually. However, once the meat is defrosted, it should be cooked as soon as possible.

  2. best way to defrost is constantly running cold water, but since that is wasteful, the overnight in the fridge is your best bet.  Of course you could just throw it into the stew pot frozen, clamp on the lid and simmer for hours.  My sister makes a type of meatball soup that way.  The meatballs are the size of a child's fist.  And she makes a whole lot ahead of time because she is the only one she cooks for.  So it's easier that way.

  3. After expiry it can harm your health.why dont u eat before?

  4. Its ok to use it as long as it was frozen. You dethaw it in the fridge overnight, then use it the next day.

  5. Yes, as long as you froze it prior to the expiry date.  I wouldn't eat it if it had been in the freezer longer then three months though.  I'm sure that would be fine, just personal preferance.

  6. Its ok to eat, but thaw in fridge, never hot water. If you have to use water, use cold
