I got this for my dorm where the bed size is 36" x 80" (twin xl) and I didn't know whether the extra 13" would save me or if I needed to buy another set and return this one.

  1. i am not sure, doesn't the 13inches mean pocket size, you know, the thickness of the mattress, if you were buying dorm sheets they would be marked xl, walmart carries them now..............look for twin xl

  2. Hi, The 13" refers to the mattress depth. You need to return those sheets as you need Twin xl and you have standard twin sheets. A twin extra long mattress is 39"x80". For the extra-long size twin you will need a fitted sheet that is 39” x 80”, a flat sheet that is 66” x 102” and a pillow case that is 20” x 26”. Hope this helps.

  3. If the set came with a dust ruffle, maybe it's length is 13"  ?
