Bought unlocked iphone on Ebay 6 mths ago, last 3 rows on main screen not working. Can I return it to AT&T?

I Bought an unlocked iphone on ebay 6mths ago. It worked perfect until the last 3 rows on the main screen (Including Phone, Mail, Safari & Ipod) stopped working. It didn't fall or anything it just stopped working. Can I return it? The sim card has not been activated but the phone is not registered under my name, neither do I have the sales receipt. Can I take it to AT&T to get it repaired/replaced? I know how to restore it to factory settings so they won't know that it has been unlocked.

The apple store would probably fix it, but it will cost more than the phone is worth or what you paid for it.
