  1. My bow came with a string made out of a modern material called Dacron.  Its worked well.

  2. There are many different kinds of string used to make strings. Dacron, Fastflight, 4120 and many more. If you are looking to buy a string I get mine from an online store called prostrings.com. The owner is a very nice guy. Its a small shop but they make a very good string. I just got a new one last weekend. They work very well or I would get a " winners choice".

  3. It needs to be a string that is designed for bows. These strings are strong, low or no stretch that will hold up to repeated usage. Some types are fast-flyte, brownell, dacron, and then the top of the line strings such as Zebra twist, and Winners choice and a few others that are custom made for your particular bow.

  4. i believe its made of darcon, you can get it in different styles, like brained or double braided and so on. you need to know the draw weight cause some strings are used for a certain draw weight.

  5. It depends on the bow, some older traditional bows don't like the fastflight types.  There are basically 2 major classes of strings, the fastflight group, which include Brownell fastflight, the BCY 8125, 452X, dyneema, majesty etc.  And the other kind of material is dacron.  Dacron is slower and has more stretch than fast flight.  It is also safer to use, any bow out there can use dacron safely, but if the limb tips on the bows are not reinforced, then you can't use fast flight on it.
