Yes this is a great bow for youth and would work great for the above mentioned.

Yes, this is for a youth? What age is the person that going to use this? Is this a first bow? The reason that I ask these questions, I was concerned about the draw weight and longer draw lengths.  My son is 9 and 22 pounds with a 24" draw is all he can handle. You might be better off to go to an outfitter and try a variety of different youth bows to find the one that fits best. It will take lots and lots of practice to get good enough to shoot a squirrel or bird with a bow. But it sure can be done.
