Question:

Bowling technique wrong foot.?

Hi, I haven't played for a few years. But decided to join a team again this summer. I used to be a leg spin bowler, i was in the nets with a coach the other day.

He noticed that I was bowling off the wrong foot. I'm right armed and reliably informed that i should bowl off the opposite foot (left).

I have been trying to use my left, however, ive gone through the motions doing it the right way hundreds of times. But when i do a full run up with a bound i can't help swinging my right leg forward and bowling on my right.

I really need some ideas of training techniques i can do at home. If i don't improve my bowling quickly i'm likely to lose my place in the team as it was my only real strength and i've basically just forgotten how to.

  1. make a jump when you finish your run up if it doesnt help then practice and practice

  2. Although convential to bowl off the opposite foot, its not compulsory. Go with what feels right for you, Mike Procter bowled off the wrong foot and he was one of the best ever.

  3. Practice putting your run up. If you keep practicing your muscles will kind of remember, Its muscle memory.

Its often used in Martial arts to get the moves fluent
